Dr. Saurabh Khasnavis
With an undergraduate study in Pharmaceutical Sciences and Ph.D. in Biochemistry, my research focused on studying neurodegenerative disorders such as Parkinson’s disease (PD); I want to center my research on neurodegenerative diseases. Since with an aging population; this is going to represent a greater need and taking Parkinson’s alone: 10M people suffer from this worldwide and the cost in the US alone is estimated to be $25bn per year. My primary research interests lies in studying the role of inflammation, oxidative stress as well as the involvement of mitochondrial biology in the development and progression of Parkinson's disease and related neurodegenerative disorders.
